NEW YORKERS SQUASH TAMPON ART

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Complaints from shoppers have forced a New York City drugstore to remove a display featuring two sculptures made entirely of out of tampons. The offbeat art was installed last Thursday in Ricky's New York drugstore to promote a new line of tampon carrying cases called "Personal Attitude." However, customers of the store raised a stink over one of the statues which depicts a woman carrying a purse with tampons falling out. The drugstore's management has now yanked the feminine hygiene art. A spokesperson for Personal Attitude says that while she understands the drugstore's decision, she finds it odd there have been no complaints about the store's other display: a male dummy with an exaggerated bulge wearing skimpy undies. The drugstore will decide later today (June 28) whether it will remove the other feminine sculpture which depicts a woman holding a silver platter filled with pads and tampons.
