TALKING FRECKLE FOCUS OF NEW KIDDIE BOOK

LAKE HIAWATHA, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- A man in New Jersey hopes to make his mark on children's literature -- with a talking freckle. Novelist Bob Messinger hopes the title character of his new book, "Freddie Q. Freckle" (Little Mai Press), will bump the Teletubbies out of the spotlight. The story concerns a homeless freckle named Freddie who is sad and dejected until a nice little girl invites him to live on her hand. Although Freddie Q. Freckle's story is just now coming out in book form, the character was actually created 43 years ago by Messinger's mother to make him feel better about his freckles. After she died in 1996, 49-year-old Messinger decided to honor his mom by putting her story out in book form. The kiddie response to Freddie Q. Freckle has been so positive that Messinger predicts there will soon be Freddie Q. Freckle TV shows, movies, comic books and even coffee cups. And that's the mole truth.
