NATIONAL HOLIDAY FOR MISFITS AND GOOFOFFS

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Here's proof America is a great country: it has its own holiday for criminals. July 3 has been declared "Decriminalization Day" to honor pot smokers, prostitutes, nudists and other perpetrators of so- called "victimless crimes." Decriminalization Day founder Robert Bakhaus says he created the day to honor America's founding fathers, who were lawbreakers themselves. That includes George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, who both grew marijuana; John Hancock, who was a well-known smuggler; and Nathan Hale, who slept with at least one prostitute. Bakhaus also says the Civil Rights movement couldn't have happened if Rosa Parks hadn't broken the law by sitting in the front of the bus. Does Decriminalization Day do any good? Bakhaus claims citizen action is one reason why it's no longer illegal to remove those "Do Not Remove" stickers on mattresses and sofas.
