THOMAS JEFFERSON TOP DOG FOR AUTOGRAPHS

THOMAS JEFFERSON TOP DOG FOR AUTOGRAPHS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- When it comes to presidential autographs, Thomas Jefferson has the "write stuff." A letter bearing Jefferson's John Hancock is expected to sell for $9000 later today (June 17) at an auction of presidential autographs at the Swann Galleries in New York City. Here's how the other presidents stack up... -- Abraham Lincoln is the second-most valuable president in the sale. His autograph should sell for at least $3000. -- John Adams' signature is worth more than $2500. -- An assortment of John F. Kennedy signatures should sell for $1000 apiece -- the same price as George Washington's autograph. -- Herbert Hoover's must be the least popular president. The value of his signature is only about $100 tops. Although no Bill Clinton autographs will be auctioned off today, experts estimate his signature will probably in the range of a Hoover and not his hero, Thomas Jefferson.
