HAIR SALON CONFESSIONS: IT'S A PRIMAL THING

HAIR SALON CONFESSIONS: IT'S A PRIMAL THING

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) -- Did you ever wonder why so many people spill their guts to their hairdressers? It turns out it has something to do with our cave-dwelling ancestors. That's according to psychologist Kim Dell'Angela of Loyola University, who says the clipping and chatting that goes on in beauty salons is similar to the rituals practiced by cave dwellers: namely communicating while picking ticks off each others' hairy bodies. Back then, allowing someone to groom you was a sign you trusted them -- and the same holds true now. Although Dell'Angela says beauty salon confession sessions can help you work out some problems, it may also have an impact on your hairdo. She warns that if your stylist starts paying too much attention to your gossip, he or she may end up making a mistake while clipping your locks.
