HOG WILD: PIG FEST HOPES TO BREAK WORLD RECORD

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (Wireless Flash) -- Folks are going to be living high on the hog next week in Hillsborough, North Carolina. This Saturday (June 19) the town will try to break a Guinness world record for the number of people attending a barbecue. The current record belongs to Sydney, Australia, which hosted a barbecue for more than 44,000 people in 1993. Hillsborough spokesperson Craig Lloyd says he's confident his town's Hog Fest will break the 50,000 mark -- even though the event usually attracts only 30,000 or so. In an attempt to break the record, he says the town has hired the "top Elvis Presley impersonator in the United States" and is promoting its Pickled Pigs Feet Eating Contest. Officials will be on hand to record whether the festival breaks the Guinness World's Record.
