GIVE HER A HAND: HAND MODEL'S BIZARRE HABITS

MT. KISCO, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- A woman in New York is gaining a reputation as being the Cindy Crawford of hand models. Ellen Sirot makes up to $350 an hour modeling her hands for closeups used in advertisements for everything from nail polish to credit cards. It may sound like easy money, but she insists the job is much harder than it looks. The "Venus of fingers" must wear gloves at all times, and she can't touch knives, pets or even a scrap of paper out of fear she'll get a cut or bulk up the muscles in her smooth-as-silk hands. Sirot also receives a manicure every 10 days and applies hand lotion religiously. Although it's a 24-hour a day job maintaining her desirable digits, she says there's one big advantage: Since detergents could potentially ruin her hands, she makes her hubby do the housework.
