`SAVING PRIVATE RYAN' CHOSEN BEST WAR MOVIE OF ALL-TIME

DALLAS (Wireless Flash) -- What's the best war film of all time? For most folks, it's "Saving Private Ryan." That's according to a new military movie survey by Blockbuster Video, which reveals 25 percent of Americans think "Ryan" is the best war flick ever made. 17 percent prefer "Bridge On The River Kwai" while 13 percent pick "Platoon" and 8 percent say "The English Patient" is the best war film. The top war films for men are all violent Vietnam epics like "Platoon", "Full Metal Jacket" and "Apocalypse Now," while women prefer touchy-feely World War II movies like "Saving Private Ryan", and "The English Patient." And, finally, if Americans could be stuck in a foxhole with any movie soldier, 33 percent would want to fight next to Tom Hanks' character in "Saving Private Ryan" while 25 percent prefer Sylvester Stallone's "Rambo" character.
