WHERE ARE THEY NOW? OLD SCHOOL VIDEO GAME PROGRAMMERS

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Old video games from the early '80s are hot again -- and that's rubbing off on the folks who designed them. According to programmer Keith Robinson, who was one of the original programmers who produced games for Intellivision, "old school" video game programmers are in the limelight again. But not all of them are still making video games. Robinson, who holds annual reunions for the Intellivision godfathers of video games, says one of the women he worked with now builds and designs birdhouses, while other former programmers now work as magicians, choreographers and musicians. And when Intellivision went kaput in 1984, Robinson himself started drawing racy cartoons for "Playboy." Now, he's building on the new-found popularity of old games like "Utopia" and "Astrosmash" with a CD-ROM called "Intellivision Lives," which contains more than 50 of the original Intellivision games.
