`BILLY JACK' BECOMES A MOVIE CRITIC

CAMARILLO. Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Remember the 1971 flick, "Billy Jack?" Well, Billy Jack is reentering the film world -- this time as a movie critic. Actor Tom Laughlin -- who played the enigmatic Indian in four Billy Jack films -- has just started a new job reviewing films for his website www.billyjack.com 58-year-old Laughlin admits he's using the "Billy Jack pulpit" to attack movies that have too much violence -- partly because he thinks violent flicks aren't the cash cows Hollywood producers think they are. He claims the only violent movies that succeed at the box office do so because they contain humor, love stories or emotional conflict. Laughlin says humor is the reason why Jackie Chan's hit comedy, "Rush Hour," grossed more than all of his other U.S. releases combined. He also predicts the new "Star Wars" won't outgross "Titanic" because it lacks a gripping love story. Although Laughlin is enjoying reviewing movies, he's also planning another "Billy Jack" sequel and hints the plot may feature Billy Jack defending Indian casinos from big government.
