JUNE IS NATIONAL STRAIGHT SPOUSE MONTH

GRAFTON, N.H. (Wireless Flash) -- A New Hampshire woman has declared next month "National Straight Spouse Month." Founder Lisa Rogak says she came up with the idea for Straight Spouse Month after she discovered her husband was a closet homosexual. Now Rogak hopes Straight Spouse Month will draw attention to straight spouses who are unwittingly living with gay men or lesbians. Part of the month-long activities involve spying on your partner for telltale signs that he or she might be gay -- like logging onto gay chat rooms or purchasing gay magazines. Rogak insists she's pro-honesty -- not anti-gay -- and that Straight Spouse Month will merely draw attention to the problems faced by straight spouses married to homosexuals. Although many straight spouses do stay with their gay partners even after being "outed," Rogak admits it takes more understanding than some people can muster. She knows of one man who, after discovering his wife was a lesbian, made her and her lover a romantic pasta dinner -- using his dirty underwear to strain the spaghetti.
