`BEDPHOBIA' COMMON TO INSOMNIACS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- It seems there's a phobia for just about everything -- including beds. According to Dr. Samuel Dunkell of Insomnia Medical Services in New York City, many insomniacs have a terrifying fear of their own beds. Dunkell estimates 30 percent of his own clients suffer from the dreaded "bedphobia" which can occur as result of night after night of tossing and turning. Bedphobia sufferers become so tormented by their failed attempts at sleep that they become afraid to get into their own beds. Interestingly, the syndrome is most common in insomniacs who sleep on their stomachs, but insomniacs of all sleep styles can be affected by bedphobia.
