ROGER EBERT: SUMMER FLICKS FILLED WITH CHEESY CLICHES

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) -- When the new "Star Wars" movie opens tomorrow, you're bound to see some cliches. That's according to film critic Roger Ebert who says it's guaranteed the bad guys will be lousy shots who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Ebert has just compiled a list of cinema cliches in his new book, "Ebert's Bigger Little Movie Glossary" (Andrews-McMeel). Others cliches sure to pop up in summer movies include... -- Movie characters who turn on the TV at the precise moment a newscaster reveals something relevant about them. -- Characters who reveal their inner turmoil by talking to a tombstone. -- And at least one movie this summer will feature a car chase that climaxes with a fruit cart being overturned while an angry peddler shakes his fist.
