WORKERS TO BE LET OFF EARLY TO WATCH `STAR WARS'

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- How do you make a gang of computer geeks happy? Give them the day off to see the upcoming "Star Wars" movie. That's exactly what an LA-based software company is doing next Wednesday for all 350 of its employees: giving them the afternoon off to see "The Phantom Menace." The GoldMine software company has already made reservations at two movie theaters to accommodate the employees, who will be treated to a free matinee showing of the flick. It may sound like the VIP treatment, but it's nothing compared to other perks GoldMine workers get, including weekly beer parties, company-financed beach vacations and free groceries.
