DISH SURVEY: GEN-XERS LET 'EM SIT IN SINK

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) -- May 17 has been declared "National Don't Do Dishes Day" -- but it seems Gen-Xers celebrate the holiday every day. According to a new survey by the Dixie paper plate company, the average senior citizen lets a filthy dish sit in the sink for about 36 hours before washing it. Gen X'ers wait nearly 3 days. Other stats from the dishy survey... -- If Americans didn't have to wash dishes, 48 percent say they'd use the extra time to read, watch TV or just sleep. -- 28 percent of men claim they do the dishes every day but 35 percent of married women say their husbands NEVER do the dishes. -- And, finally, 11 percent of Americans admit they've thrown away a perfectly good dish simply because they didn't want to wash it.
