NUMBERS SAY MAY 9 IS A DAY FOR FIRSTS

ISSAQUAH, Wash. (Wireless Flash) -- If you have an idea for an invention, you might want to sit down with a pen and paper this Sunday (May 9). According to numerologist Pam Bell, May 9ths tend to be days when earth-shattering inventions, creations or cultural movements take hold. On May 9th, 1960, the first birth control pill was approved for use by the general public. On May 9th, 1893, Thomas Edison introduced the world to motion pictures when he screened a short film showing a blacksmith at work. On May 9th, 1754, the very first newspaper cartoon appeared in Benjamin Franklin's "Pennsylvania Gazette." Bell says it's no coincidence that lots of firsts happen on May 9th, because the numerology of the date encourages progressive changes that impact many people. Except for May 9th, 1933 -- the date the first of many Nazi book burnings took place.
