MEET THE MAN WHO FIRED BILLY JOEL

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) -- Singer Billy Joel turns 50 on Sunday (May 9) and one person who will be toasting the "Piano Man," is the man who fired him in 1971. Monte Rock III -- who recorded the 1974 hit "Get Dancin'" using the name Disco Tex And The Sex-O-Lettes -- says he hired Joel to play piano in 1969 for gigs at some New Jersey bars. However, Rock claims he fired Joel two years later on charges of "Having too much talent." These days Rock thinks Joel is a genius, but says his own ego prevented him from recognizing the "Piano Man's" talent when they first worked together.
