KIDS MORE EGOTISTICAL THAN EVER

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Looks like American kids are better than ever -- at least that's what they think. A new survey by Nickelodeon and the polling firm of Yankelovich Partners reveals that 62 percent of kids age 9 to 17 consider themselves smarter than other kids. The egotism doesn't end there -- an additional 62 percent call themselves leaders in their classrooms. However, the so-called "class leaders" aren't necessarily risk-takers: 54 percent of kids say it's better to fit in than to be different. Finally, although 62 percent of American kids claim they're smarter than their classmates, 58 percent do admit they're afraid they won't get into college.
