SALIVA ART: 8-YEAR-OLD CREATES `SPIT SCULPTURES'

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (Wireless Flash) -- They say art is in the mind of the beholder but for an 8-year-old girl in Washington State, it's in her saliva. Little Sondra Clark makes her salivary works of art by licking those biodegradable packing peanuts which she then assembles into unusual shapes. Sondra says the coating of spit makes the fluffy tubes sticky, and allows her to create spaceships, clowns and even forts made out of the spit-soaked packing material. Even Sondra's mom has gotten into the Spit Sculpture act: She's a motivational speaker who teaches the unusual art technique during her workshops. Sondra is the author of the new book "Craft Fun With Sondra" (Hara Publishing).
