RUPERT EVERETT BASHES SHAKESPEARE, BOY GEORGE

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Actor Rupert Everett may star in the upcoming film version of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer's Night Dream", but that isn't keeping him from biting the hand that feeds him. The actor -- who also appeared in "Shakespeare In Love" -- tells the upcoming "W" magazine that he thinks Shakespeare is overrated as a writer and should be banned for the next 100 years. The Bard isn't the only one Everett is aiming his "slings and arrows" at. Other targets include... -- Boy George, who Everett calls a disgusting "big blob." -- Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro, whose Method acting style is blasted by Everett as making them "look like hams." -- Finally, even former French President Francois Mitterrand gets a ribbing from Everett who blames Mitterrand for turning France into "...a boring, backward, Third World country."
