ART SHOW FEATURES MEDIA PRANKS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Folks who pull pranks on the media are getting their day in the sun, thanks to a new art exhibit that will open April 28 in New York City. The show at the CBGB Gallery will feature photos of billboards that have been "artfully defaced" by underground artists -- such as a billboard for Kool cigarettes which has been changed from "Very Kool" to "Very Foolish." Another prank featured at the show involves the modification of billboard for Levi's jeans in which Charles Manson's face was painted over face of the man modeling the jeans. Media prankster Joey Skaggs will also show a video documenting various pranks he's played on the media, such as the time he convinced a UPI reporter that cockroach hormones can cure zits. Organizers for the event say the show is supposed to make people see how their lives are -- quote -- "...affected by the Satanic engines of Pop Culture."
