BASEBALL TO HONOR HANK AARON WITH NEW AWARD (EMBARGOED UNTIL MIDNIGHT, EDT, APRIL 8)

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash) -- This Thursday (April 8) will mark the 25th anniversary of the day Atlanta Braves star Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's lifetime home run record. Aaron hit his 715th homer off of L.A. Dodgers pitcher Al Downing and he eventually accumulated a total of 755. In honor of Aaron's anniversary, Major League Baseball will be unveiling a new trophy: "The Hank Aaron Award." The award will be given each season to the two players in each league with the most hits, home runs and RBIs. If the award existed last year, Albert Belle would have won in the American League and Sammy Sosa would have been the National League winner. The Hank Aaron Award will be officially unveiled at a special ceremony in Atlanta tomorrow.
