DAFFY DUCK LEAVES STAMP ON POSTAGE MARK

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash) -- Daffy Duck is the latest cartoon character to leave his stamp on the postal world. On April 16, the U.S. Post Office will officially issue the Daffy Duck stamp, which features the animated duck leaning against a rural mailbox with his famous "You're despicable" look. To celebrate, the city of Hollywood is declaring April 16 as "Daffy Duck Day" and a special ceremony will be held at Mann's Chinese Theater. Until then, here's some Daffy trivia to ruffle your feathers... -- According to a 1996 poll, 20 percent of kids thought Bugs Bunny and Daffy should be president and vice-president, compared to only 12 percent who wanted Bill Clinton and Al Gore. -- "Daffy Duck" is bartender slang for wacky, hyperactive drunks who may be using speed. -- And, finally, Daffy deserves credit not for making people laugh but for making them dance: Hip-hop historian Thomas Guzman- Sanchez claims Daffy's bizarre moves directly influenced the two most common breakdance styles: "popping" and "locking."
