MOST AMERICANS WANT SCHOOLKIDS TESTED FOR DRUGS

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash) -- Put this in your pipe and smoke it: 51 percent of Americans believe that drug testing youngsters is necessary to reduce violence and increase student performance. That's according to a new pot poll by the Family Research Council which also shows 52 percent think the drug war is a lost cause. -- 34 percent don't think the recent medical marijuana debate is influencing teenagers to start smoking pot. -- 26 percent support making marijuana legal. -- 43 percent of Americans approve of medical marijuana even if the weed contains more cancer-causing substances than cigarettes. -- And, finally, 69 percent think drug testing new drivers is an effective way to reduce teenage drug use.
