THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER: GRACELAND MAKES `TOP LAWNS' LIST

MILWAUKEE (Wireless Flash) -- Graceland may be a mecca for Elvis fans -- but it could soon become a shrine for lovers of lawns. The Memphis estate has just been named one of America's "Top Ten Lawns" by the Briggs & Stratton company, which makes engines for lawn mowers. Graceland gets high marks for its 14 acres of sprawling grass and something called the "Meditation Garden." Also on the lawn list is the Iowa cornfield where "Field of Dreams" was filmed. It won because of its overall appearance and lawn maintenance. The Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, gets praises for its "top lawn" and grounds which feature 5,000 rose bushes. A spokesperson for Briggs & Stratton says the annual list is compiled to encourage people to honor lawns as one of America's national treasures.
