BABE RUTH UNDIES WORTH BIG BUCKS

BABE RUTH UNDIES WORTH BIG BUCKS

DALLAS, Tex. (Wireless Flash) -- A pair of old underwear may not seem like a priceless heirloom, but the undies could be worth as much as $700 if it contains a label that reads "Babe Ruth Athletic Underwear." The Babe Ruth brand of boys' underwear was sold in department stores in the 1930s and, according to Michael Jasperson, a memorabilia expert for "Beckett's Sports Collectibles," the Babe's underwear is now a collectible item. Undies that haven't been worn and are still in the original box can be worth as much as $700 -- but even used, stained skivvies can sell for $300. And even the empty box can fetch $350 because most of them were thrown away. But the real "creme de la creme" for Babe Ruth underwear collectors is one of the 14-inch-long miniature bats included in the sale of some packages. They're now worth about $700.
